Rachael is a solicitor advocate within the maternity and obstetrics division of our defendant clinical negligence team. Rachael was granted higher rights of audience shortly after qualifying at Browne Jacobson in 2021. Rachael has also obtained a master’s in Medical Law and Bioethics from the University of Lancaster which focused on reproductive health.

Rachael works in our maternity and obstetrics division which focuses primarily on supporting the work carried out by NHS Resolution’s Early Notification Team, aimed at improving safety in maternity care through the early investigation of maternity incidents where babies are born with a potentially severe brain injury. She also helps Trusts with investigations into cases where babies have died, many of which result in inquests; or where women have suffered severe injuries as a result of childbirth.

Rachael previously worked in the defendant clinical risk team at a national firm and in house at a medical defence organisation defending clinical negligence claims, in particular those involving high value or complex injuries.
