Browne Jacobson lawyer speaks on social mobility at The Law Society’s Annual Conference

Today (23 September) Lynette Wieland, a health and social care lawyer at law firm Browne Jacobson is taking part in the Law Society’s Diversity and Inclusion annual conference where she will join a host of leading figures from the legal community to discuss the current state of social mobility within the profession.

The virtual event which has ran throughout September, is hosted by the Law Society of England and Leeds Law Society and coincides with National Inclusion Week.

Lynette who was appointed as a social mobility ambassador for the Law Society earlier in the year is a strong advocate of social mobility within the legal profession, having taken a non-traditional route into law herself.

Lynette’s role at the event supports Browne Jacobson’s wider campaign around championing inclusivity and social mobility in the workplace.

Participants of the event are invited to hear thought provoking stories and will receive hints and tips on best practice that focus on various strands of diversity and inclusion. Some of the topics include mental wellbeing, LGBTQ+, disability and race and ethnicity. Lynette will be joined on the panel by President of the Law Society, I. Stephanie Boyce, President of the Birmingham Law Society, Inez Brown, Chief Executive of the Bridge Group, Nik Miller and QC of Spire Chambers, Kama Melly.

Browne Jacobson are currently ranked 5th in the Social Mobility Employer Index 2020 alongside some of the country’s leading employers in the Social Mobility Foundation.
