Browne Jacobson has appointed Kevin Moore – one of the most connected lawyers in Ireland's life sciences and MedTech ecosystem – as Commercial Partner, a major step in building an ambitious All-Island legal platform for life sciences.  

Kevin has spent the past 15 years advising companies across the full business lifecycle, from early-stage innovation and investment through commercialisation and market entry to strategic transactions and exit, with a particular focus on the manufacturing, supply and commercial arrangements that underpin life science products in market. 

DeNovo Legal, the specialist firm he founded, has been a trusted adviser to emerging and scaling companies within Galway and Ireland’s internationally recognised life sciences cluster. 

He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Galway BioInnovate Fellowship Programme, a specialist health technology innovation programme affiliated with Stanford Biodesign. 

Based in Galway, Kevin joins UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson to work alongside Dublin-based Corporate Partners Will Darmody and Gavin Bluett, as well as Chiara Quondamatteo, Corporate Associate specialising in life sciences. Together, they will form an integrated Ireland team with the range and depth to advise life sciences clients from their earliest commercial contracts through to major cross-border transactions, fundraisings and regulatory matters. 

The appointment comes as Browne Jacobson establishes a presence in Belfast after recently joining forces with Davidson McDonnell. This means the firm will, for the first time, have a presence spanning Galway, Dublin and Belfast – the full length and breadth of the island of Ireland.

A strong network at the heart of Irish MedTech 

Galway is not just a regional city, it is a global life sciences capital – home to some of the world's most innovative medical technology, medical devices and pharmaceutical businesses, and one of the top five clusters in the world. 

Kevin, who has an MSc degree in medical device innovation, sits at the centre of this ecosystem. His work focuses on commercial agreements, intellectual property arrangements, research collaborations and investment transactions for MedTech and diagnostics businesses.  

He will also focus on deploying existing legal technology tools as well as new solutions aimed at improving how Irish life sciences companies access and use legal services as they scale internationally.  

Kevin boosts Browne Jacobson’s sector-leading health and life sciences practice, which is growing its work with companies developing digital health solutions, medical devices and diagnostics in the UK, Ireland and internationally.

Kevin’s hire follows the recent appointment of Chris Holder from Bristows, who brings deep expertise in life sciences technology and artificial intelligence. Together, the two appointments reflect a deliberate, sustained and accelerating investment in building a market-leading UK and Ireland life sciences practice.  

They will work closely with Gerard Hanratty, Head of Health and Life Sciences, and Carly Caton, Partner in commercial healthcare.
