Christian is an associate in our corporate tax team, working closely with our corporate team on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, company restructuring and trade disposals in addition to advising on real estate tax matters, employee share incentive schemes and stamp duty. 

Assisting several departments of our firm on tax aspects arising on their transactions, Christian advises a wide variety of clients from public sector clients, such as local authorities, to various private sector clients. 

Joining Browne Jacobson 2015, Christian has worked in several teams, including tax, corporate, real estate and commercial, prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2019 and re-joining the tax team. During his training contract, Christian spent six months seconded to Capital One’s contracts team, gaining valuable experience working as part of an in-house legal team.

Transfers of going concern

Advising on VAT-treatment on transfers of going concern (TOGC) and negotiating TOGC agreements. 

Stamp duty

Assisting our corporate and real estate teams and advising clients on stamp duty and stamp duty land tax (SDLT) matters and available reliefs. 

Employee share incentive schemes

Setting up and preparing documentation for the grant of options under employee share schemes, including Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI) schemes, in addition to advising on qualifying conditions. 

Corporate Tax

Advising and assisting our corporate team on several transactions throughout the year, including negotiating and agreeing tax provisions of share purchase agreements and doing legal tax due diligence on share option schemes.
