Breakfast Club seminar

09:30 - 11:00

The use of contractors in the workplace remains a challenging area and we would very much enjoy your company and contribution at our round table breakfast session where we will discuss:

  • The IR35 rules - The rules are changing in April 2020 however public authorities have been grappling with the new regime since April 2017. It is clear that there remain some questions around the practical application of the rules.
  • Contractor status issues - We have seen a number of Employment Tribunal claims where contractors have argued that their true status is either employee or worker of the end-user, irrespective of whether they are engaged under a personal services company. How to assess the risks and what are the consequences?
  • Managing projects/consultants – the challenge of ensuring that the project/costs do not escalate. What practical steps can be taken when procuring the work and drafting the contract?

Join Jennifer Grigg, commercial procurement specialist and Bridget Prosser, Employment Partner for an interactive session. We would love for this round table to be led by those attending so please do bring along something you would like to share or discuss.
