In order to help you, and help you budget for external legal costs, Browne Jacobson has developed a helpline service which offers you access to our specialist adult social care legal team for a fixed annual fee.

  • unlimited email/telephone queries on any areas of community care law which you feel you require support (that can be resolved within 60 minutes) including:
    • Mental Capacity/DoLS/Court of Protection
    • Mental Health
    • Care home accommodation: ordinary residence, CRAG
    • Care Planning: community care assessments, challenges to offer of services
    • Immigration and asylum - provision of care services
    • Direct Payments and Independent Living Fund
    • NHS Continuing Healthcare responsibilities

  • 24/7/365 support – You can contact our lawyers by email or phone 24/7 so you always have legal

  • discounted rates for all work that falls outside of the 60 minute helpline service

How it works

It’s very simple. When you sign up we will send you a team sheet which gives you the direct contact details for your specialist lawyers and your dedicated client relationship manager. When you need our help, simply call or email the dedicated email address and phone number you have been given and your query will be
automatically directed to one of our team.

Terms and conditions

  • the cost of this service is £1,495 + VAT per year 
  • the helpline service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • the helpline can be used for advice on issues listed in this document. We aim to resolve your query within a total of 60 minutes (including your call) and provide advice the same day. If a query cannot be resolved within 60 minutes, we will provide an estimated cost based on discounted rates and wherever possible we will offer you a fixed fee. You will not incur any costs without your express instructions to do so 
  • there is no limit on how many times you can use the helpline for different issues. However, the helpline cannot be used for continued advice on ongoing matters (for example an ongoing displacement of Nearest Relative matter) 
  • access to the service begins immediately upon instruction and operates for 365 days 
  • these are in addition to the Browne Jacobson LLP terms and conditions
