Neel is an assistant advocate in the Barristers team at Browne Jacobson. He was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in March 2022. In addition to his legal experience, Neel draws on a broad professional background, having worked in management consultancy and the Department for Exiting the European Union before obtaining an MSc in Mental Health, Ethics & Law at King’s College London. Neel studied for his LLB at the University of Exeter.
Prior to joining Browne Jacobson, Neel was a senior paralegal at the General Dental Council, developing a strong understanding of medical regulation and professional discipline. In the In-House Legal Presentation Service, Neel assisted with substantive case preparation before hearings, as well as interim orders and restoration applications. Neel has also worked as a paralegal in various commercial settings.
Neel can build a strong rapport with vulnerable and child witnesses. As a Social Security Tribunal Representative, Neel has expertise in assisting people with learning disabilities when making appeals regarding benefit sanction decisions. Neel has also volunteered with the local Gujarati community, helping those for whom English was not a first language to access council services and facilitating English classes to improve overall literacy and fluency.
