Katie is the Policy Wordings Manager of our unique wordings team, offering a wide range of services to the insurance sector. Katie specialises in drafting insurance policies, bespoke policy endorsements and policy wording upgrades.
Katie regularly provides advice in relation to a wide variety of wordings, including updates in response to legal and regulatory changes. Katie is also an expert in project management, regularly managing complex projects with a significant number of documents, often working in conjunction with our clients' project management and technical teams.
Simplifying policy wordings by drafting in plain English is embedded within Katie’s delivery of advice and document upgrades for insurer clients; having been part of a ground-breaking study into the readability of insurance policies in conjunction with linguistic researchers at the University of Nottingham’s School of English.
Katie regularly drafts articles for our publication “The Word” delivering a monthly digest of news, views and cases of interest to anyone responsible for drafting and creating insurance policy wordings.
Led on the upgrade of a client’s combined medical malpractice and public liability offering.
Led the delivery of over 100 IPIDs for a retail insurer client.
Project managed and led on a client’s complete rewrite of their tradesman segment offering, consisting of a complete business policy wording and five different tailored PI sections.
