Charlotte is an associate in our criminal, compliance and regulatory team. Charlotte advises both individual and corporate clients on a broad range of criminal regulatory matters including health and safety, product safety, fire safety and financial crime across multiple sectors. 

On the contentious side, Charlotte has experience defending clients subject to investigation and prosecution by the Police, Health and Safety Executive, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Care Quality Commission. She also has prosecution experience on behalf of fire authorities and local authorities.  

Charlotte is a valued member of our public inquires team and has played a key role in supporting the teams representing Core Participants on the Manchester Arena and Covid-19 Inquiries.

Featured experience

Joint Police and Health and Safety Executive Investigation

Acting for a transport manager of a haulage company including drafting a prepared statement in preparation for an interview under caution as part of a joint Police and HSE investigation into a fatal accident. No further action was taken against our client.

Consumer credit

Advising a charitable trust on the consumer credit risks associated with their proposed cycle to work and electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes.

Health and Safety duties

Advising an international luxury goods company on their health and safety responsibilities as an employer and a commercial client under the CDM Regulations 2015 in respect of a high-profile store fit out.

Financial regulation and sanctions

Advising a manufacturer of heating systems on the financial regulatory risks associated with their product repair plans and strategy for self-reporting to the FCA. Provided subsequent sanctions advice for the same client in respect of products being sold to Russia
