about Matthew
Matthew leads our EU and competition team where he advises on both behavioural competition law and UK and multi-jurisdictional merger control. His behavioural work includes advising national and multi-national clients on pricing and distribution strategies and parallel importation issues. He also advises on anti-bribery compliance.
Matthew has defended a number of clients in investigations by the OFT/CMA and the European Commission as well as making leniency and immunity applications. He also advises clients on developing and implementing tailored competition law compliance programmes including running training and workshop sessions for employees and putting in place internet-based training modules.
In the field of anti-bribery compliance, Matthew has extensive experience of advising clients on putting in place “adequate procedures” to deal with the strict liability corporate bribery offence under the UK Bribery Act.
He has worked with clients in a diverse range of sectors such as luxury fashion, food, manufacturing, retail, construction, education, charities, health and insurance.
