There is a profound and notable change occurring in guidance from the centre and emerging case law on the handling of NHS Workforce matters. Baroness Dido Harding’s letter in May 2019 and the interim People Plan puts workforce culture front and centre and builds on the work arising out of the “Just Culture” initiatives and a number of high profile reviews looking at staff welfare in disciplinary and grievance matters. Some of these issues are proving to be complex for Acute Trusts, often with greater Human Resources functions, so how can CCGs put themselves in the best position to meet the changes in handling workforce issues?
