Insights into the NHS White Paper – integration and innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all

The NHS 'Integration and innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all' white paper was released on 11th February 2021. It’s aim is to:

  • establish Integrated Care Systems
  • promote collaboration across healthcare, public health and social care
  • ensure that all NHS organisations have regard to better health and wellbeing for everyone, better quality of health services for all individuals and sustainable use of NHS resources.
  • set a capital spending limit on Foundation Trusts
  • ensure that joint committees could be formed
  • allow flexibility in commissioning & collaborative commissioning
  • allow joint appointments between NHS bodies, local authorities and combined authorities
  • build in successful data sharing
  • allow patient choice.

This page will look into each of the areas of the white paper with analysis of the recommendations.
