the big move - Nottingham to Birmingham

9 April 2013

After completing my first seat in the social care team, which I thoroughly enjoyed, in the Nottingham office, I decided to take the plunge and head off to the Birmingham office.

The main factor in my decision to move was the seat on offer. I was very keen to complete a seat in the banking and corporate department, a seat not currently available in Nottingham, and see for myself how the Birmingham office operates.

A lot is said about the Birmingham office when working in Nottingham, in particular the “cosy” feel. No doubt the Birmingham office is far smaller then the new shiny building we have acquired in Nottingham, however that should not be seen as a negative. The smaller office instantly makes you feel a part of the overall “Birmingham team”, and as a new face in the office is noticed almost straight away, everybody is quick to introduce themselves and get to know you.

Although Birmingham does not have the famous No.44, the office location is second to none for eating, shopping and relaxing during your lunch break. Located in the heart of Victoria Square you are well and truly spoilt for choice. Be warned, your wallet will no doubt take a battering given that the Bullring is less then a 5 minute walk from the office!

As a trainee I would highly recommend a seat in the Birmingham office. It is a fantastic way to get your face known across the firm, as well as being able to take full advantage of the additional seats available.
