On 16 November 2011 the Community Action Committee (CAC) held a Community Action Day in No 44, the aim of the day was to let the staff here at BJ’s know just exactly what the firms committee do and what the next few months held in store for the CAC.

Not only was this a day for people to ask questions, see what they could take part in etc but also the final of the CAC Pool Tournament took place. It was hotly contested and the winner took home the rather coveted trophy. There were also tickets for the raffle to be bought and boxes for Operation Christmas child to collect. The work here never stops!

The turnout was excellent and many people stopped by the stall to look (and laugh a little) at photos from various projects that teams from the firm have undertaken, from bench building to pond clearing and more.

The CAC also received nominations from around the firm for the new Charity of the Year, this is a way of people in the firm submitting ideas for which charities should be considered by the committee to become the new Charity of the Year. We like to forge strong links with our charities and support them in their aims both by fundraising and by helping our on projects.

All in all it was an excellent day and nice to see new faces and old checking out just what varied tasks the employees of Browne Jacobson carry out both inside and outside of work. It is an excellent way of getting involved in community projects and meeting colleagues who you may not come into contact daily.
