another month, another trainee social...

9 August 2011

The goal: team bonding (oldies and newbies alike).

The challenge: to use our skills of analysis and be crowned Nottingham’s premier super-sleuths in a night of razzle-dazzle, feathers, and of course, the odd murder!

We arrived at the hotel and entered a completely different world, of 1920’s glitz and glamour, when Prohibition was in force and criminality was rife. Everyone attending had made such an effort with their fancy dress costumes. We were busy chatting, and getting to know Jonny and Lauren (two of next year’s cohort that had come along for the night) when onto the ‘stage’ burst our evening’s entertainment.

The mystery unfolded during the course of the evening, and audience participation was encouraged – Kassra and Dave each had a leading role, as the hero and the doctor respectively – who knew we had such talent within our group!

We sailed to a comfortable victory, having guessed the assailant and produced the most inventive motive, and enjoyed a nice bottle of bubbly as our prize (amidst sighs of relief that we could return to the office on Monday, our heads held high as we had once more proven our worth!)

We hopped around a few more bars, then danced the night away in one of Nottingham’s finest establishments – who knew that life as a BJ trainee could be so much fun!
