BJ sporting activities for the firm's fitness fanatics

4 April 2011

As a trainee you have opportunities to take part in a wide range of sporting activities. This not only gives you an opportunity to maintain some semblance of fitness, but also the chance to meet people from around the firm, other professions and clients.

Since joining the firm I have been regularly playing five-a-side football, whether informal games with colleagues or the Nottingham junior lawyers division, or representing the firm formally at the Nottingham chamber of commerce five-a-side competition (where we reached the final of the ‘plate competition’). There is also the small matter of the annual BJ’s inter-departmental football competition in the summer to look forward to, where longstanding grudges between departments and offices can be settled on the pitch!

The highlight of the sporting calendar for the firm though is the annual golf day, held over one weekend during the summer. This is a very popular event and is always very competitive, with bragging rights for the next 12 months at stake!

If football or golf is not your thing though there are other ways to get involved with the firm in a sporting way, whether that is playing cricket against our clients, representing the firm in the netball league or getting a team together for a rounders competition.

As you can see, there is plenty to get involved in away from your desk if you are of a sporting disposition!
