A unique local charity that provides life changing support to children with disabilities and their families has received a funding boost from the city’s largest law firm.

Footprints Conductive Education Centre, (formerly known as School for Parents) has received more than £20,000 in donations as a result of teaming up with Nottingham law firm Browne Jacobson on various fundraising initiatives over the last 18 months.

Footprints became an independent charity in 2001 and provides conductive education and other services to children and to the families of children with mobility and communication difficulties, as well as offering practical assistance and information to parents on how best to support their child in the home environment. The charity has also developed a range of special communication projects for children with Down’s syndrome. The charity works with families across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and the broader East Midlands area and is based at Iona School in Nottingham.

Nathalie Bailey-Flitter, Manager at Footprints, said:

“I would like to thank Browne Jacobson for working with us over the last 18 months.

By partnering with us, they have helped to raise the profile of our organisation and  the important work we do. The donations have certainly had a significant positive impact on both the children and families at Footprints and for that we are very grateful.”

Tim Johnson, Partner and member of the Community Action Group at Browne Jacobson added:

"We have really enjoyed partnering with Footprints and are in awe of the fantastic work that they do.

The way our people across the firm united in their efforts to raise these vital funds and knowing that it will make a real difference to someone makes me very proud.

As a firm, we remain thoroughly committed to supporting local causes that have a real impact on the communities they operate in."
