Browne Jacobson strengthens counter fraud team

16 April 2018
Law firm Browne Jacobson has strengthened its counter fraud team with the appointment of Intelligence Manager Christopher Grocock.

Chris joins from Derby-based Analytical Alternatives and ReACon Intelligence and has more than 10 years’ experience in counter fraud intelligence across public and private sector organisations including the Prison Service and Bet365 where he led the fraud analysis team as well as supporting the anti-fraud initiatives within global corporations such as Esso. His specialism lies in all areas of counter fraud from detection and monitoring through to criminal investigations, risk management and asset protection.

Chris will be based in the firm’s Birmingham office and will be responsible for supporting client investigations into insider and cyber-enabled fraud, working closely with the firm’s insurance and public sector teams whose clients are potentially falling victim to fraud as well as with the intellectual property team in respect of brand protection.

Paul Wainwright, Head of Counter Fraud at Browne Jacobson, said:

"We are really excited to have Chris join our team at what is an increasingly challenging time for business with the advent of GDPR and detailed scrutiny of data security and the increasing levels of cyber-enabled fraud.

We are building on a number of notable successes and are widening our remit through his specialist skillset to be able to serve a broader commercial client base.

Chris has a proven track record of developing strong relationships with enforcement agencies and the wider intelligence community and delivering effective solutions for clients on both UK and multi-jurisdictional matters. This will be a significant asset for our UK and international client base.”

Browne Jacobson’s counter fraud team specialises in handling first and third party fraud investigations for clients across a range of sectors, including insurers, local authorities, health bodies, schools and corporates.
