Browne Jacobson advises Staffline on brace of acquisitions

19 March 2018
Corporate lawyers at Browne Jacobson have successfully completed the second acquisition for Staffline PLC Group in as many months after the Nottingham based recruitment organisation completed the acquisition of Endeavour Group Limited and its subsidiary Vital Recruitment Limited for an undisclosed sum.

The Browne Jacobson corporate finance team advising Staffline was led by Paul McCannah, supported by Vicky Gaskell, Richard Medd, Sian Harrison, Beth Dowson (Tax) and Suki Tonks (Property).

Established in 2006, Peterborough headquartered Vital Recruitment supplies temporary short and long term recruitment solutions to a number of sectors including food manufacture, horticulture, logistics, engineering and transport through its 10 UK wide office network.

In February Browne Jacobson dealmakers Paul McCannah, Sian Harrison and Beth Dowson also advised Staffline on its acquisition of Essex based logistics and industrial recruitment specialists, UK Distribution Personnel Ltd.

Staffline Group plc is an AIM listed recruitment organisation specialising in permanent and temporary recruitment and training services to the food processing, manufacturing, e-retail and logistics sectors. Established in 1986, the company has achieved outstanding growth in recent years both organically and through a series of bolt-on strategic acquisitions.

Chris Pullen, Chief Executive Officer of Staffline, commented:

“We are thrilled to announce this strategic acquisition of Vital. The acquisition will bring an extensive network of connections and resources in the East of England and will further strengthen our Food division and help us to increase our market share in Agriculture. The acquisition supports Staffline Recruitment’s vision “to be the trusted market leader, providing a single destination for Blue Collar workers and employers to connect across the UK”. With a number of large blue-chip clients, Vital will help further extend the Staffline network.”

Mark Keegan, Finance Director of Staffline, commented:

“Having advisors who know your business model and can be relied upon to provide practical and commercial legal advice to get the deal over the line is critical. The team at Browne Jacobson have always delivered and that is why we have turned to them on some of our most strategically important transactions.”

Paul McCannah, corporate finance associate, added:

“The latest acquisitions by Staffline will further strengthen the company’s growth at a regional and sector level and having advised Staffline on many of their key acquisitions over the years, we are delighted to continue to support Stafflines’s strategic plans”.
