public sector specialist promoted to partnership at Browne Jacobson

Browne Jacobson has promoted Nottingham based public sector specialist Anja Beriro to the partnership.

Anja is a member of the firm’s Government and Infrastructure team and her promotion brings the number of partners in the team to five.

Anja, who joined the firm from Sheffield Council in 2011, advises local and central government bodies, as well as health, education and private sector clients, on matters relating to public procurement, alternative delivery models, commercialisation, governance and contracts.  

Peter Ware, head of the Government and Infrastructure team at Browne Jacobson, said: 

“I am delighted to welcome Anja who is a highly skilled and talented individual to the partnership. She will add to and further strengthen our successful public sector practice and we all look forward to working with her in the years to come.”

The firm’ s Government and Infrastructure team has seen significant growth in the last few years following  a number of key lateral hires appointed in London and the South West. It has also acted for a number of significant new clients including advising the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on the establishment of the Oil and Gas Authority and well as growing its footprint in the technology, utilities and green energy procurement arena. Other clients include the National Audit Office, Cabinet Office, Crown Commercial Service, Crown Prosecution Service, NHS England and the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.

The firm’s broader specialist public sector practice is ranked nationally by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 and acts for over 200 local authorities, 50 NHS bodies and over ten central government departments and bodies.

Browne Jacobson currently has 132 partners across its five office network.
