Browne Jacobson advises on Creator-Mail Limited acquisition by Inspired Thinking Group

Browne Jacobson has advised Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking on the financing of the acquisition of data management specialist Creator-Mail Limited by Inspired Thinking Group (ITG).

The adding of Creator-Mail Limited to the ITG portfolio will enable the company to offer a deeper level of marketing intelligence and customer insight to clients. Following the acquisition Creator-Mail Limited founder Mark Brennan will continue as CEO of the renamed ITG Creator.

Established in 2009 by CEO Simon Ward, Birmingham headquartered ITG offers a broad range of multi – channel marketing production and support services which help marketing teams improve their marketing operations and processes and client communications. Clients include major UK and international retailers, brands and financial services businesses including M&S, Audi, Pets at Home and Renault. Alongside its Fort Dunlop offices, the company has a technology operation in Dartford and has recently opened offices in New York and Chicago.

Set up in 2005, London based Creator-Mail Limited is an award winning digital agency specialising in driving revenues online through creative eCRM initiatives across all digital & data capabilities. Its clients include, amongst others, Virgin Media, Merck Sharp & Dohme and TUI Group.

Ian Sale and Hertej Rattan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking provided senior debt facilities to support the acquisition. The Browne Jacobson team advising Lloyds Bank was led by Birmingham banking partner Emma Hinton, assisted by head of tax Andrew Noble and Paul Krivosic (corporate) and Chereta Edmeade (banking). 

ITG was advised on the acquisition by John Houlden, Ben Collins and Linda Marston Weston of EY, along with Catalyst Corporate Finance, led by Midlands managing partner, Richard Sanders. 

Clearwater International, led by UK managing partner Phil Burns, associate director Helen Lowe and associate Stephen Nemeth, advised the management of Creator on the transaction.
