Browne Jacobson puts the finishing touches to print firm MBO

23 September 2015
Dealmakers at Browne Jacobson have advised the buyer and management on the successful MBO of York Mailing Group with funding provided by the institutional investor, Pricoa Capital Group.

York Mailing Group (YMG), which was co-founded by Chris Ingram in 1999, is the country’s leading producer of retail flyers, media inserts, catalogues and leaflets.

The MBO follows a period of significant growth for the business recently during which it received a £10m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) and acquired Go Direct Marketing Limited and The Lettershop Group. Turnover currently exceeds £100m from across its three sites which jointly employ over 500 staff. Its clients include M&S, Tesco and Lidl.

BGF, which took a 20% stake in the business with its investment back in 2013, has reduced its holding but will retain a minority stakeholding.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by corporate finance partner Gavin Cummings on the acquisition and Emma Hinton on the banking aspects.
