7 July 2015

Browne Jacobson has advised Cursor Controls Limited on securing £4.5 million equity investment from Maven Capital Partners.

Newark based Cursor Controls Limited is a world leader in the development and manufacture of trackball technology for the military, medical, industrial, commercial and multi-media sectors. The investment will enable Cursor to continue to develop its cutting edge product portfolio and broaden its global footprint across a range of diverse markets.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by corporate finance partner Gavin Cummings, assisted by associate Paul McCannah.

Gavin Cummings said: "This transaction demonstrates the strong appetite which exists for private equity to back strong management teams in niche technology sectors within the East Midlands. We are pleased to have been able to work with the management team and to assist in the future development of the business."

Neale Sutton, Managing Director commented: “After a number of successful years which have seen Cursor Controls become established as market leaders in trackball and input technology, the Management team are delighted to be embarking on the next chapter of the Company’s storied history with Maven by our side.

“On behalf of the Management team I would like to thank the Browne Jacobson LLP Nottingham office for their legal advice and close support throughout the transaction.”
