Browne Jacobson advises Cursor Controls on private equity investment

Browne Jacobson has advised Cursor Controls Limited on securing £4.5 million equity investment from Maven Capital Partners.

Newark based Cursor Controls Limited is a world leader in the development and manufacture of trackball technology for the military, medical, industrial, commercial and multi-media sectors. The company was established over 70 years ago and currently has over 1200 trackball variants in its product range.

The investment will enable Cursor to continue to develop its cutting edge product portfolio and broaden its global footprint across a range of diverse markets.

The deal will also see the appointment of Finance Director Nick Burgess and Chairman Kevin Kearns to the Board.

Maven Capital Partners UK LLP (Maven) is an independent small-to-mid cap private equity and alternative asset manager who provides flexible growth capital and mezzanine finance to UK SMEs through its six UK offices, managing around £350m of assets for a variety of client funds.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by corporate finance partner Gavin Cummings, assisted by associate Paul McCannah.
