IPSA appoints Browne Jacobson as its sole legal provider

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) has appointed Browne Jacobson LLP as its sole legal adviser.

The three year appointment will see the firm advise IPSA across a wide range of areas including:

· Public law

· Freedom of Information and Data Protection

· Employment

· Pensions

· Procurement

Established under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009, the IPSA is an independent body which sets and pays MPs salaries and pensions as well as monitoring and administering MPs business costs and expenses scheme.

Browne Jacobson LLP is ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 for public and administrative law. Laura Hughes, partner in Browne Jacobsons Public Law and administrative Team said:

Right to Work Checks: Changes from 6 April 2022

From 6 April 2022, right to work checks on all migrant or settled prospective employees must be online and checks on British or Irish nationals will be manual (free) or digital (charged for).
