Browne Jacobson leads on Albatha stake in A.N. Wallis

Browne Jacobson has advised Albatha Engineering on the acquisition of a substantial stake in A. N. Wallis, the Nottingham based manufacturer of earthing and lightning protection products.

Albatha Engineering is a part of Albatha Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Founded in 1950 by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, the Group has over 5000 employees and comprises over 25 standalone companies specialising in a broad range of sectors including automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, electronics, FMCG, food, real estate and education.

Albatha Engineering has been at the forefront of construction and engineering products and services in the UAE for over 40 years including mechanical and electrical contracting, surveying, fire protection, high-grade industrial chemicals, lighting, electrical & engineering equipment and facilities management.

Tecon, a subsidiary of the Albatha Engineering, has been appointed as sole distributor of Wallis products in the UAE.

Established in 1946 A.N. Wallis has manufactured products for mosques, hospitals, universities, substations, telecommunication towers and petrochemical projects across the world, including the Grand Prix Circuit in Abu Dhabi from its state of the art 17,000 sq feet manufacturing facility in Nottingham.

Corporate partner Mark Hughes, who led the Browne Jacobson team, said:
