Browne Jacobson acts on recommended offer by Source BioScience

30 September 2013

Lawyers at Browne Jacobson have advised Source BioScience on its successful £12.2m acquisition of Vindon Healthcare. The transaction team was led by corporate finance lawyer Mike Jackson with the banking facilities negotiated by Emma Hopkinson.

Nottingham based Source BioScience provides specialist products and services to NHS bodies, academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The business is split into three inter-connected divisions - Healthcare, Pharma Biotech and Life Sciences - and now employs around 200 people.

AIM listed Vindon Healthcare was established in 1967 and specialises in manufacturing environmental control products for the pharmaceutical, life sciences and food industry such as blood banks, plasma freezers and incubators from its sites in the UK, Ireland and the US.

Gavin Cummings, who heads up the corporate practice at Browne Jacobson said: "We are finding the life sciences and biotech market particularly active this year - we have now acted on four transactions this year in the sector, including two for Source Bioscience. We are delighted to have supported Source Bioscience on a listed takeover and to have acquired a business which is an excellent strategic fit, broadening their geographic footprint and product portfolio."
