Browne Jacobson has acted for Europ Assistance Group on the sale of its UK and Ireland assistance and insurance arm to management for an undisclosed sum.
The corporate team, led by partner Richard Cox, advised the French owned parent company on the sale to management led by non-executive director Tim Ablett and chief executive Patrick Leroy.
The sale will see the business operate as an independent entity offering a comprehensive range of assistance and related insurance services while retaining access to Europ Assistance Groups worldwide network.
With a global turnover exceeding £1bn Europ Assistance Group is one of the worlds leading providers of travel, motor, home & family, and health assistance solutions and insurance related services.
Established in 1963 the company currently serves over 30 million customers and operates in over 200 countries.
Other advisors included Fenchurch Advisory Partners acting for the sellers and Lawrence Graham who advised management.
Europ Assistance Group is a subsidiary of Italian insurance group Generali.
