By April 2013 PCT clusters will cease to exist. The bulk of commissioning duties will be passed to Clinical Commissioning Groups and public health matters will transfer to local authority control under the management of local Health and Well-being boards. Until this time, PCTs remain bound to perform their statutory duties.
