foundation trusts

Foundation trusts are changing ‐ the Health and Social Care Bill has reiterated that all NHS Trusts should become or be part of a foundation trust; with greater freedoms to innovate to improve care, more opportunities for NHS staff to have a say in the future of their organisations, abolition of the income cap foundation trusts may earn from other sources and increased freedoms to tailor their governance arrangements. In addition the Coalition Government has made it clear that there is a renewed focus on clinical and corporate governance, with patient safety, quality and identifiable outcomes being at the heart of that process.

Our healthcare lawyers have advised foundation trusts since ‘wave 1’ and having worked with the regulators, understand this complex and evolving regulatory environment. We deliver expert solutions every step of the way, from securing 'foundation' status to optimising the benefits this status brings.
