Completing a development agreement to tight
timescales
We had three weeks to draft, negotiate, agree and complete a
development and section 106 planning agreement for the regeneration
of a housing estate in Central London. The project was to be
delivered by a local housing association – partially on public
amenity land - over a period of 12 years in several phases. Getting
the agreement completed on time was critical to the provision of
£20m government funding without which the scheme could not
proceed.

Sharing a site and enhancing environmental education at Newport
Wetlands Reserve
The Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) required advice in
relation to a lease of land at Newport Wetlands Reserve to the
Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), who planned to
construct and operate an environmental education centre on the
site. CCW did not want the development of the centre to adversely
impact upon its use and operation of the site and a solution was
required for the phasing of tenant’s works

Managing a complex property development in a city centre
A site was being purchased in the centre
of Huntingdon for regeneration. There were nine parcels of
land, all with unregistered title; an electricity substation needed
to be relocated; the site was contaminated and there were a
substantial number of professionals involved.

Landmark 300th store opening for Wilkinson
Wilkinson Hardware Stores opened their
300th store at Clifton Moor in York in 2008. We were asked to help
them secure the best possible terms for the lease of the premises,
which were in the process of construction and access rights were
required for the shop fit-out. Having worked for Wilkinson’s
for over 25 years, our knowledge of their business and their
particular leasehold requirements assisted greatly in securing the
best possible terms for the letting.
