ensuring school's DPA compliance
the challenge:
A large secondary school’s governing body had concerns over
their compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and
required an audit evaluation of its working practices to rectify
any compliance issues;
our approach:
Staff across all of the school’s operations
were asked to complete a pre-audit questionnaire allowing us to
identify areas of particular need and enable us to focus our
attentions efficiently. On site over two days, we interviewed
selected staff, examined files and assessed the technological
measures in place to protect the personal data held;
the results:
The governing body received a report and a
presentation containing a comprehensive breakdown of our findings.
Our recommendations ensured that the school was fully compliant and
reduced the risk of future legal challenges.
