the challenge:

Swift Horsman, a specialist contractor to the construction industry, is a highly innovative business that recognises the value of a well-managed IP portfolio.  They wanted to review their management and use of IP to ensure the proper capture, protection and enforcement of IP; to identify areas for improvement; and to implement any required changes.

our approach:

We met with the board for initial discussions and were instructed to carry out a full IP audit.  We designed a comprehensive and bespoke audit which included: a detailed IP questionnaire for client personnel; interviews with key personnel; and reviewing and collating documents relating to the creation, recording, registration, use, protection and exploitation of IP.  We prepared a detailed report of our findings which outlined areas of risk and listed the practical changes that the business could make to improve their IP management.

the result:

All aspects of the business were audited and areas for improvement identified.  Practical recommendations were made to help Swift Horsman implement changes and improve management and use of IP.  A well managed IP portfolio can add substantial value to a business.
