Solicitor
"What with the
trainee and regional group events, there is usually something at
least once a fortnight, if not a week… it just depends on whether
you think you can handle it! "

Social whirl
Every year, within the first couple of weeks
of the training contract, all the trainees are packed off on an
“away day” to an adventure centre. The day is a great opportunity
to get the two years together and provides a chance to meet and
bond. This year, we built rafts and attempted to cross a river,
made our very own videos to market Browne Jacobson and then had a
fantastic barbeque for lunch. In the afternoon we got to try some
rock climbing before sitting down to watch the mornings marketing
videos.
Every trainee is a member of their
local Trainee Solicitor Group. This year, three Browne
Jacobson trainees stood for election and were successfully
appointed to the committee. The group host drinks evenings, career
talks and a variety of other events. They recently held the annual
Nottingham Trainee Ball that had a ‘Rat Pack’ theme, the
free-flowing Champagne reception and entertainment meant the night
certainly went off with a bang!
Trainees from all of the offices meet up
regularly for social events which are funded by the firm’s trainee
budget. So far this year, we have been go-karting, on a curry
evening and on an ‘ale trail’. All the future trainees are invited
along as well so it’s a good opportunity to meet trainees across
the years.
On top of these events, there are also the
firm and departmental events, such as the Summer and Christmas
Parties. So, what with the trainee and regional group events, there
is usually something at least once a fortnight, if not a week… it
just depends on whether you think you can handle it!
