Meet the trainee
Name:
Sian Williams
Position:
2nd year trainee
Current
seat:
Commercial Property - Public Authority and
Health Team
Office:
Nottingham
Major
casework:
During my time in the department I have worked
for a variety of public authority and health sector clients. My
work has included advising primary and acute health care trusts on
property matters, such as projects for the construction and
refurbishment of hospitals and lease arrangements with GP
surgeries. I have also been involved in a number of property
disposals and site acquisitions for commercial and residential
developers.
I will be qualifying into the medical
negligence department in September and my time in the property team
has been particularly valuable, as it has provided me with an
overview of wider health law issues. For example I have gained a
detailed understanding of the corporate governance side of some
large public sector clients.
Recent
achievements:
The team has recently secured ongoing
instructions from The Youth Hostel Association (YHA), East Midlands
Ambulance Service, Leicester Fire and Rescue Services and Derby
Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Life
outside the law:
Away from work I enjoy socialising and cooking for friends. I
also enjoy traveling and spent six months traveling around the
world before joining the firm.
