Meet the trainee
Name:
Victoria Pender
Position:
2nd year trainee
Current
seat:
Corporate and banking. I work on a wide range
of matters including acquisitions, restructures, and debt
finance.
Office:
Birmingham
Major
casework:
I assist on the support elements of corporate
transactions such as disclosure letters and documents. I have
worked on several substantial banking transactions and have been
responsible for managing the pre-requisites required for the bank
to make the funds available to the borrower. I have also undertaken
a financial assistance and whitewash procedure.
Recent
achievements:
I recently supported the refinancing of
Superior Plumbing Installations Limited Refinancing in conjunction
with Lyceum Capital. We advised Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets
Acquisition Finance on this deal which was completed for an
undisclosed sum. The refinancing involved a number of other parties
including Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets as senior debt provider and
Deloittes as corporate finance advisors.
Life
outside the law:
I have been involved with the Trainee
Solicitors' Group since the beginning of my training contract. My
first role was in the Nottinghamshire Trainee Solicitors Group as
marketing secretary where I was responsible for marketing events
and helping to maintain relationships with sponsors. I was later
elected as President of the Nottinghamshire Trainee Solicitors
Group and now sit on the National Executive as membership
director.
I train for half marathons in my spare time
and like to socialise with my friends, visiting the many bars and
restaurants of Birmingham at the weekends.
