It’s always nice to be asked for your point of view, and now is your opportunity to have your say.
The Department of Health have been in consultation overdrive in the past couple of months and now the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are getting in on the action.
Short breaks
When ring-fenced funding ends in 2011, local authorities could face specific statutory duties to provide short-break services for families of disabled children and young people. The consultation seeks your views on what legal responsibilities should be placed on local authorities and how they should deliver the short-break services.
Whilst the consultation is primarily focused on local authorities, the DSCF recognises that it is of interest to Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), children, carers, short-break providers and voluntary organisations.
The consultation closes on 26 April 2010 and further information is available from the DSCF website.
Assessments of quality in 2010/2011
The Care Quality Commission came into being in April 2009. It is the regulator of health and adult social care in England, taking over the functions of the Healthcare Commission, the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Mental Health Care Commission.
Its current consultation seeks your views on the methods proposed to assess the quality of provision of health and social care services provided by councils, PCTs, NHS trusts and adult social care providers.
The consultation closes on 27 April 2010 and further information is available from the CQC website.
