Disciplinary Procedures - Right To Be Accompanied
An "informal" warning which is confirmed in writing, has a
formal timescale for its continuation and is recorded on the
employee's disciplinary record is sufficiently "formal" to give
employees the right to be accompanied at the meeting at which the
warning is decided on. This is regardless of how the "informal"
warning is described by the employer.
Employers may need to review their disciplinary practices and
procedures in the light of this.
