To be a charity, an independent school must benefit the public.
A seemingly simple proposition, but it goes to the heart of the
school's ability to maintain its charitable status, and it is once
again under scrutiny. Furthermore, delivering a public benefit is
not enough by itself. A school needs to record this delivery, so
that it can demonstrate it through reports to the Charity
Commission.
