Browne Jacobson has been named corporate law firm of the year at
the East Midlands Insider Dealmaker Awards held this month.
The firm beat off competition from Eversheds, Geldards and
Freeth Cartwright to land the prestigious award.
The award caps a memorable year for the firm during which
overall turnover reached a record breaking £35m. The past twelve
months has also been an exceptionally busy year for the corporate
finance and commercial teams with turnover growing by 26%. During
this period, its corporate and banking teams advised on more than
100 transactions with a deal value in excess of £1 billion.

during the year include:
- Acted for Loomis (formerly Securitas) upon its acquisition of
UK cash handling business of Brink’s
- Acting for the shareholders of SOL Construction on the £21m
sale of SOL Construction to ROK PLC - one of the major corporate
disposals in the East Midlands during the year
- Acting on the sale of XMA, a specialist supplier of IT products
with a turnover of £200million
- Acting for LDC on its exit and management on £77m secondary
buy-out of Brittons
