Leading Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has appointed partner
Maralyn Thomas, the former head of corporate pensions at
Leicestershire-based Harvey Ingram LLP.
Maralyn, who has more than 20 years experience
advising trustees, companies and other pensions professionals on a
range of pensions-related issues, built up and led the team at
Harvey Ingram. In addition to her wealth of experience advising
clients in London and the Midlands, Maralyn is also a former
Ombudsman and is Consultant Editor of Tolleys Pensions Law.
She will be joined by two members of her
existing pensions team and by Anna Marshall, a New Zealand
qualified lawyer from Pitmans.
Iain Blatherwick, Head of Business Services at
Browne Jacobson, commented :
“Maralyn will play a major role in
developing the firm’s pensions practice over the coming years. The
depth of her experience working for a range of national and
regional clients will greatly enhance our pensions advisory
service. There is a lot of change taking place in the pensions
industry. Government reform is high on the agenda so we are
delighted that Maralyn has agreed to join the firm and advise our
clients in what has become a highly complex regulatory
environment.”
Maralyn Thomas added :
“I am delighted to be joining Browne
Jacobson, described by The Legal 500 as a ‘regional heavyweight’ I
know I will be joining a team of people highly respected in their
individual fields. I very much look forward to working with the
Firm’s clients to help them find pragmatic solutions to the many
complex pensions questions they face.”
The appointment is the second lateral hire made by the firm in
as many months. In November the firm’s highly acclaimed clinical
negligence team was strengthened by the arrival of Lorna
Hardman.
