Only Midlands firm to win award for second year running

Browne Jacobson has scooped top honours at the MPF 2007 European Practice Management Awards held on Wednesday night for the second year in a row. They were awarded first prize for 'best marketing campaign’.

The ‘best marketing campaign’ accolade is awarded to the firm for a campaign that has demonstrated that it is innovative, well articulated, clear in its aims and objectives and has achieved high levels of commercial success.

In awarding the prize the judges praised the firm’s ‘Midlands mid-market’ campaign, which aimed to develop the firm’s corporate identity in the Midlands, for its innovation and excellent execution in turning ‘cold’ contacts into clients.

The Managing Partners Forum is a European organisation which champions practice management in professional firms. A team of over 30 senior management consultants based in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia judge the awards. Browne Jacobson fought off competition from some well-known names in the profession including Allen and Overy, Nabbaro and Taylor Vinters. Entrants for other categories include a plethora of well-known professional services firms including Shoosmiths, Bevan Brittan LLP and Clifford Chance.

Commenting on the awards, Browne Jacobson's Managing Partner Brian Smith said 'We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award and to be recognised by the forum for the second consecutive year alongside other much bigger European firms. The award demonstrates the continued dedication and hard work of the entire business in raising Browne Jacobson's profile as a Midlands firm'.

The firm has a history of success in these awards collecting the award for ‘best managed firm’ alongside global law firm Linklaters and 2nd in the 'best brand in practice' category last year. They won Best Use of IT in 2003, and were short-listed again in the category in 2005 as well as being awarded third place in the category of Best Corporate Citizen in 2005.

The MPF accolades add to an increasing array of recent achievements for the firm as at the 2006 Legal Marketing awards they were awarded the titles of ‘UK Regional Marketing Team of the Year’ and ‘Marketing and Business Development Director of the Year’ as well as being ranked 47th in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2006.
