healthcare & risk
Browne Jacobson’s Health Law team is made up of skilled lawyers
with vast amounts of experience working in the healthcare sector
and provides advice on property, commercial, employment and
professional negligence issues.
Healthcare is a 24-hour business and so round the clock legal
support is on tap for the firm's NHS and private clients. When
clients are faced with immediate issues, such as staff receiving
accusations or threats from a patient, it may be necessary to
advise staff on a professional level and to take urgent legal
action to protect them. Building on lessons learned from such
incidents, the team work closely with clients to develop future
prevention and risk management strategies.
In addition, the team offers other services including gaining
planning permission, protecting intellectual property rights and
advising on employment issues. It has extensive experience of
dealing with public and NHS Inquires (and all the press interest
which goes with them) along with training in areas such as
complaints and claims handling systems and ensuring medical records
are kept in line with the Data Protection Act. It provides legal
and practical support and representation for clinicians and other
health careworkers who are required to appear at hearings,
tribunals or in court.
