case study - Jonathan Allen
reasons why
joined:
As a leading regional firm which has a national client reach,
the firm offers a fantastic quality of work to its trainees but
still manages to be friendly, offering a good work-life
balance and really cares about its corporate social responsibility
work.
experience gained:
My first seat was in tax, trusts and charities where the work
could include anything from drafting a grant making policy for a
charitable fund and researching about Jersey offshore regulations,
to preparing wills for high net worth individuals or work on
employee benefit trusts.
I am currently in my second seat in the environment
and advocacy team which involves both contentious and non
contentious work. There is a huge variety of work and although only
part way through the seat I have already assisted on matters for
judicial reviews, attended coroners inquests, and drafted advice to
clients for nuisance claims.
recent
achievements:
- supported counsel on a 12 day trial at the High Court
- created a charitable trust for a famous sportsman
- helped as part of a team on a Prince’s Trust CV writing
scheme for young people in the local area
