LABA & Browne Jacobson join forces to support Asian business growth

The Leicestershire Asian Business Association (LABA) has forged a new alliance with East Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson to help support the growth of Asian businesses in the county.

As a preferred supplier of legal services LABA and its members will be able to access legal and practical business advice from one of the region’s leading commercial law firms. The partnership will also see Browne Jacobson work closely with LABA in developing networking opportunities between the region’s Asian businesses and overseas trade delegations through its network of offices in London, Nottingham and Birmingham.

Jaspal Singh Minhas, President of LABA, commented: “With Browne Jacobson on board as a legal services partner we hope to create a platform to build a long term strategic alliance for enhancing bilateral commercial opportunities between the business community in Leicestershire and organisations as far afield as India, Middle East and Africa who are keen to enhance further trading and investment links with the region.

“Browne Jacobson’s corporate and commercial expertise across a wide range of sectors such as food and drink, banking and retail is second to none and we believe their involvement will be important in supporting our members and assisting LABA’s plans to establish a world class business advice and international trade centre, thus enhancing the region’s global trading credentials and attracting much needed inward investment opportunities.”

Iain Blatherwick, Managing Partner at Browne Jacobson, added: “Partnering with organisations such as LABA underpins our commitment to the region’s business community and its long term economic prosperity. Businesses in the region, especially those reliant on consumer spending are bracing themselves for a tough year so we are keen to do all we can in supporting and facilitating enterprise, business growth and international trade and investment opportunities for LABA and its members.”
