Browne Jacobson secures place on new Oxfordshire legal services panel
6 September 2010
Browne Jacobson has been appointed to a newly formed legal panel
set up by a consortium of six councils in Oxfordshire.
The six councils include Cherwell District Council, Oxford City
Council, Oxfordshire County Council, South Oxfordshire District
Council, Vale of White Horse District Council and West Oxfordshire
District Council. The Royal Berkshire Fire Authority is also a
member of the consortium. The panel will also be made available to
councils in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
The appointment is the latest in a long line of successful local
authority consortium appointments secured by the firm’s public
sector team. Over the past year this has included London Boroughs
Legal Alliance and EM Lawshare. The firm is also a member of ACSeS
Southern Councils Consortium and West Yorkshire Legal Panel.
According to Legal 500 Browne Jacobson is a ‘a true heavyweight
in the public sector’ and a firm that has ‘proved itself a national
player in public sector work, already acting for 150 local
authorities and several social landlords.’
Dominic Swift, Head of Public Sector team at Browne Jacobson
said:
“This appointment is a true reflection of our well-established
local authority expertise and our excellent track record advising
public authorities on the full range of issues they face.
“As public sector budget cuts start to bite, joint procurement
consortiums such as these will play an increasing part in
delivering efficiency savings.”
In total eight firms have been appointed to the panel.
