Browne Jacobson scores with HCA panel win
3 February 2010
Browne Jacobson LLP is one of only three firms to be appointed
to the central region legal panel of the Homes and Communities
Agency (HCA), the Government’s national housing and regeneration
agency for England.
The appointment, which has been awarded on a four year basis
from 1 April 2010, follows from the HCA’s first major review of its
legal advisers’ panel since its formation.
In total there are fifteen firms on the panel, which is divided
into a national and three regional panels (South, Central and
North).
The HCA was established in December 2008 after the functions of
a number of agencies was brought under one roof, including English
Partnerships and the Housing Corporation.
Dominic Swift, Head of the Public Sector Team at Browne
Jacobson, said:
“There was considerable competition for the 15 panel places from
both new and legacy firms so we are delighted to be given an
opportunity to work with the biggest regeneration and development
agency in Europe.”
“Our public sector expertise in working with more than 160 local
and public authorities and the close synergy between a number of
our specialist teams including housing, development, planning,
environmental and commercial would have been a major contributing
factor in our success in securing a place on the HCA’s Central
panel.”
