Browne Jacobson opens up new City office
8 December 2008
Browne Jacobson has confirmed its faith in the
City by moving to new, larger offices in Gracechurch Street,
London. The move is in response to the firm’s steady growth over
the last year as a leading provider of legal advice to both
insurance companies and financial institutions.
The newly refurbished premises increase Browne
Jacobson’s presence in the city, accommodating six partners and a
headcount of 27, which will rise over the next few months in line
with the firm’s plans. The office move comes at a time of
significant growth for Browne Jacobson, which has recently
recruited two high profile insurance specialists to its London
team; Shaun Slack, who joins from Eversheds and Nichola Evans who
joins from DWF.
Derek Bambury, partner at Browne Jacobson,
said: “Despite the uncertainty that all markets are
experiencing at present, we have continued to see demand for our
services and have simply outgrown our old premises in Aldwych. We
wanted to relocate to larger offices that were closer to the City
and to our clients and contacts in and around the Square
Mile.
“The insurance sector is an increasingly
important area to us – advising insurers on risk reduction, claims
defence and the resolution of other legal disputes – and we wanted
to show that we are committed to the market for the
long-term.”
