Browne Jacobson hits a double century
10 March 2008
Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has scored a double century,
advising on 100 corporate finance deals, as well as reaching the
same milestone in terms of staff numbers at its Birmingham
office.
The proudly regional firm is convinced that its local approach
to meeting clients’ needs is part of the success it has enjoyed on
several fronts. While the firm’s tailored and personal approach to
corporate legal advice is a hallmark of its service, the strong
team-based culture and emphasis on the individual explains the
business’s consistently high ranking as an employer of choice.
Joanne Bligh, corporate finance partner at Browne Jacobson’s
Birmingham office, said:
“Our success in reaching the magic century when it comes to
deals and people is a huge shot in the arm for the business, which
continues to grow on the basis of understanding clients’ businesses
and investing in our people.
“We believe that long-term success can only be built on
really understanding our clients and the industries in which they
operate. It’s also about having a genuine relationship with people
within our client organisations. That means spending time with
clients, which requires professionals who can operate within a
commercial environment and speak the language of business, not just
the courtroom.”
Over the last year, Browne Jacobson has advised on some of the
biggest corporate deals in the region including TT Electronics plc,
Aggregate Industries and SOL Construction.
Its Birmingham office now employs 103 people. The firm was
ranked 47 in an annual table of the top 100 places to work by the
Sunday Times.
