Browne Jacobson begins 2011 with clutch of awards

7 January 2011

Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has been awarded eight rosette awards for the second year running by Lex 100 – the definitive student guide to the UK’s leading law firms 2011.

Lex 100 is an annual survey that canvasses the opinions of trainees at over 150 law firms by asking them to rate ten key aspects of their trainee programme including job satisfaction, client contact, friendliness of the firm and social life. The 20 highest scoring firms in each category receive a rosette award.

Browne Jacobson’s eight rosettes were awarded in the following categories: job satisfaction, living up to expectations, quality of work, client contact, stress-free, friendliness, work/life balance and social life.

According to the survey ‘trainees love the lack of hierarchy, supportive attitude of colleagues, and social vibe. They feel truly supported and valued, even by the partners.’ In the words of one trainee, quite simply ‘everything about the firm is fantastic’, and we think an offer from Browne Jacobson should be snapped up.’

Lex 100 praises the firm on its ability to win new clients and advisory role on some of the region’s flagship projects, which include sole adviser on the property and concession aspects of Alliance Boots’ merger with Dollond & Aitchison involving 690 stores; acting for Advantage West Midlands on the regeneration of Coventry City Centre and being appointed to the ground-breaking London Boroughs Legal Alliance.

The firm has also invested strongly in its people over the past 12 months to ensure its continued success in 2011 as demonstrated by an honourable mention in the recent Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter Annual Report and achievement of the new Investors in People Health and Well Being Award in October 2010.

Eileen Henry, Director of HR at Browne Jacobson, said:

“These awards and the results we achieved last year are providing us with a superb start to 2011. The market for quality individuals remains fiercely competitive, however, and Browne Jacobson’s reputation as a leading law firm with an excellent trainee programme deserves to be better known - check out the latest Lex 100 survey results and you can see what we mean.”

Browne Jacobson is now accepting applications for 2013 training contracts, the deadline for which is 31 July 2011.
