securing funding for development
the challenge:
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) required legal advice to
negotiate a complex funding package under tight timescales.
The finance was for redevelopment work on the Newton Arkwright
Buildings at Nottingham Trent University – a focal point for its
city centre campus.
our approach:
Using a team of lawyers with expertise in finance and education
we took the time to discuss and understand the priorities for RBS
in the finance structure of the deal. By fully understanding
the importance of the project we provided legal support to the bank
to complete the loan facility within the required timeframes of
both the bank and the University. This will enable the
University to improve its teaching research facilities across its
three campuses and continue the redevelopment that was started in
2004.
the result:
This was an important funding package for RBS and its customer, the
University being strategically important in terms of the bank's
commitment to the region and to supporting the University’s growth
plans. It was completed on time, to the satisfaction of all
involved.
